白蝶貝や黒蝶貝を中心に、茶蝶貝、あこや貝、淡水真珠貝、コンク貝等の母貝(マザー・オブ・パール)の内側部分を使用し、多種多様である。また、それぞれが美しい。繊細に光り輝き、高級感がにじみ出る。
