Square type. It makes a watch a dressy and neat image. It is sometimes called "carré" which means "square" in French.
A chronograph that has another chronograph hand coaxially with a normal one and can measure the middle of the time is called a split second chronograph. It is called "Ratrappante" in French, and "Wari-Ken" in Japanese. クロノグラフのなかでも、通常の秒計測用クロノグラフ針と同軸に、ストップウオッチ用の針をもう1本持ち、中間タイムの計測ができるものをスプリットセコンド・クロノグラフと言う。フランス語では「ラトラパンテ」、日本では「割剣(わりけん)」と呼ぶ。
