In 1881 Kintaro Hattori was founded as a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori". He built the base of the Japanese watch industry and is also called "King of Timepieces in Japan".
Seiko continues to send the first watch of the world one after another, such as the quartz wristwatch(1969), the 6-digit display digital wristwatch(1973), the spring drive wristwatch(1999).
Besides that, on August 28, 1953, they televised Japan's first television commercial (the time signal of the noon).

1881年に服部金太郎が服部時計店として創立した。彼は日本の時計産業の礎を築き、「日本の時計王」とも呼ばれている。
