Spring Drive.

Whereas AGS is a quartz wristwatch, Spring Drive released in 1999 is a mechanical wristwatch. It incorporates a speed control mechanism using a quartz oscillator in the mechanical movement and realizes the same high accuracy as the quartz watch while using the mainspring as the power source. However, the price difference between AGS and Spring Drive is intense.


AGSがクォーツ腕時計であるのに対して、1999年にリリースされたスプリングドライブは機械式腕時計である。機械式ムーブメントに水晶振動子を使用した調速機構を組み込み、動力源にぜんまいを使用しながらクォーツ時計と同等の高精度を実現したものである。
しかしながら、AGSとスプリングドライブの価格差は激しい。
